Visual Poetry
Until Moriah Purdy spoke to our class I did not know that visual poetry even existed. With that being said I was amazed at the art she has done. The way a simple text can be turned into something more using digital imaging software is incredible. A typed page of words is pretty straight forward and does not take must to read what it mean. With visual poetry the reader has to look deeper than the text itself and look into the way the words are arranges, the patterns that the sentences make. After listening to her talk I have realized the potential for this next project. I have learned that you can take a simple sentence and make it something more, and that is what I look forward to.
